KGIM maintains Internet licenses to operate in China

The law in China limits foreign ownership of companies that provide Internet content and advertising services. Koolanoo Group operates its websites and provides online advertising services in China through a PRC limited liability company.

Koolanoo Group rights and operations are secured by PRC, and formed with the aide of law firm DLA Piper and Broad and Bright.

KGIM holds licenses and approvals necessary to operate websites and technology business in China.

An ICP license is a critical factor to the success of operations in China. Unlike the West, in order to maintain an INternet website or distribute software an operator must attain a license (ICP - Internet Content Provider) from the government. A different license is provided for each line of service. Obtaining an ICP license is not an easy task and takes considerable amount of time and money. Foreign-invested enterprises still cannot directly hold Internet content provisions licenses in China.

I've been in the Internet business a long time. But working for the hottest teen social network in China is truly exciting. You can feel the enthusiasm and the vision in the office every day.
Watch out Facebook and Myspace, China is coming.
